In order to improve the working efficiency of the filter press, we must first understand the working principle of the box filter press. Its working efficiency is closely related to cake moisture, solid content in filtrate and hourly treatment capacity, feed concentration, feed pressure, feed size composition and filter pressing time.


First of all, let's talk about the size composition of the feed. The content of - 200 mesh in the feed directly affects the filtering effect. - The higher the mesh content of 200 mesh, the lower the processing capacity of filter press and the higher the moisture content of filter cake. If the feed size is coarse, the filter performance is good and the cake-making time is short. However, the feed size is too coarse, the slurry settles quickly, the fluidity is poor, the central hole of the filter press is prone to clogging, and the cake formed is loose. Therefore, the chamber filter press is suitable for flotation of - 0.5mm.


Secondly, attention should also be paid to feed concentration and pressure. The higher the feed concentration, the shorter the time required to fill the filter chamber with the filter towel slime, the stronger the treatment capacity of the filter press and the lower the moisture content of the filter cake. Although higher feed concentration is beneficial to the improvement of pressure filtration effect, the feed concentration should not be too high. It is generally required that the feed concentration should be above 300 g/L, preferably around 500 g/L, and not more than 800 g/L. The higher the feed pressure, the lower the moisture content of the filter cake. If the pressure is too high, it will help to shorten the cake-making time and reduce the moisture content of the filter cake, but the effect is not significant. The optimum feeding pressure is 0.4-0.8 MPa.


In addition, it is necessary to control the pressure filtration time. The longer the filter pressing time is, the lower the moisture content of the cake is. However, the filter pressing time directly affects the processing capacity of the box filter press. It also shows that the pressure filtration time is too long, and the moisture content of the cake is not significantly reduced.
